Water Stories is a long-term, transdisciplinary research project where water connects us to people through its stories, and people connect us to water through theirs. It explores creative ecologies that emerge from an embodied, sensorial dialogue with the element — through photography, film, movement, somatics and sound, science, language and mythology.
Leif Firnhaber is a Brussels-based multidisciplinary artist (b. Paraguay, 1987) who synthesises movement (dance, martial arts, somatics and sound therapy) with visual media (photography and videography). He has worked mostly in contemporary dance in Belgium, with companies such as Charleroi Danses and Eastman/Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui & Damien Jalet, alongside many others in Spain, Switzerland and Germany, as well as independently across South and Central America.
Nazli Tecimer is a movement artist born in Istanbul (1994), with a background in languages from Istanbul University and in music (theremin and vocals). She collaborates as a performer and project manager with Çıplak Ayaklar Kumpanyası, an independent dance company and artist collective from Istanbul, Turkey, is active in Thai massage therapy, and practices Body-Mind Centering, working across sound and movement-based projects with artists from many disciplines.
